Why it's private

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your passphrases are generated locally © nothing is ever sent to a server, logged, or stored. You can even disconnect from the internet and it will still work.

How it works

We choose random words using crypto.getRandomValues() and the EFF Diceware 7,776-word list. Word-based passphrases can be easier to type and remember, while still providing strong entropy with enough words (~12.9 bits per word).

Tips for strong passphrases

Use 4©6 words for most accounts, more for high-value logins. Avoid meaningful phrases or quotes © random words are stronger than ©memorable© phrases.
